The hand spectroscope- AstroMedia
Cardboard kit for a fully functional handheld spectroscope that shows the spectrum of light and measures the wavelengths of spectral lines.
Making light spectra visible – with the handheld spectroscope
A high-precision transmitted-light diffraction grating with 1,000 lines per millimetre makes the spectral colours appear. In this way, the hand spectroscope enables the investigation of different types of light, from the continuous spectrum of glowing bodies such as the sun or a light bulb to the line spectra of fluorescent lamps and many other light sources. The wavelength can be read to an accuracy of about 5 nanometres on a scale whose brightness can be adjusted.
For an optimised and interference-free view, we also recommend our night-black velour paper.
